Virtual MathPsych/ICCM 2020

The 53rd Annual Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology, and the 18th Annual Meeting of the International Conference on Cognitive Modelling will be held online as a virtual conference from July 20-31, 2020, with live Q&A sessions taking place from July 22-31, 2020.

The virtual conference venue is still under construction, but will be located at virtual.mathpsych.org.

Format for MathPsych presentations

Please note that there are still three categories of MathPsych presentations:
  • Virtual symposia (submissions have closed)
  • Virtual talks
  • Virtual posters

(Already submitted symposia, talks, and posters will be considered for their virtual analogs.)

For all three presentation types the initial structure will be identical.

The first phase is asynchronous presentation: Presenters will submit prerecorded talks by July 12, which will be posted online by July 15. After a viewing period of a few days, we will open and designate a discussion board where conference attendees can pose questions and authors can answer.

Only virtual symposia and selected virtual talks have the second, synchronous phase: A live remote discussion panel during which presenters first answer selected questions from the discussion board and then take questions from a live audience. Times for these discussion panels will be staggered over time zones to accommodate our global audience.

Virtual symposia and virtual talks

Virtual symposia and virtual talks are prerecorded spoken presentations of 15 minutes or less. We will publish a set of guidelines and suggestions for recording presentations, and a link to a dedicated website where users can upload recordings.

Presenters of virtual symposium talks and of selected virtual talks will be invited to a live remote Q&A session, where they can answer questions posed on the discussion forum or posed live by other attendees.

Virtual posters

Virtual poster presentations are prerecorded spoken presentations of 5 minutes or less. We will publish a set of guidelines and suggestions for recording presentations, and a link to a dedicated website where users can upload recordings.
