The Society for Mathematical Psychology promotes the advancement and communication of research in mathematical psychology and related disciplines. Mathematical psychology is broadly defined to include work of a theoretical character that uses mathematical methods, formal logic, or computer simulation. The Society journal is the Journal of Mathematical Psychology.

The 47th Annual Meeting of the Society for Mathematical Psychology will take place in Québec city, Canada, from July 18th to July 21st. The local hosts are Denis Cousineau (U of Ottawa), Sylvain Chartier (U of Ottawa), Sébastien Hélie (U of Purdue) and François Vachon (U Laval).

Québec city is one of the oldest cities in North America and the old town, a 2 minute walk from the conference site, is reminiscent of the old medieval cities of Europe. The Professional Development Symposium hosted by the Women of Math Psych will be held on July 18.

The Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society will be held immediately after the SMP meeting in the same hotel and an adjacent conference center from July 23 to July 26, making it easy for people to attend both conferences. Additionally, the Conference of Uncertainty in Artificial Intelligence, Organization for Computational Neuroscience, and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence will be co-located with MathPsych.
