Mathematical psychology is broadly defined to include work of a theoretical character that uses mathematical methods, formal logic, or computer simulation. The official journals of the society are Journal of Mathematical Psychology and Computational Brain & Behavior.

Research Associate at the Technische Universität Darmstadt

The Department of History and Social Sciences (Institute for Linguistics and Literature) at the Technische Universität Darmstadt offers a position as a Research Associate (m/f/d) – 100% at the Laboratory for Empirical Reception Research (LitLab - Prof. Dr. Thomas Weitin) for a fixed term of three years.

Qualifications

  • You have a Master’s degree / doctorate in empirical literature, empirical aesthetics, experimental linguistics or cognitive psychology

  • You have experience in laboratory research, ideally with a setup of eye tracking and peripheral physiology

  • You enjoy working in a research team

  • You are highly interested in interdisciplinary research questions

  • You have a very good command of both German and English

Main Responsibilities

  • Experimental research in the field of Digital Literary Studies with a focus on reading research and empirical text analysis

  • Development and implementation of your own research project

  • Management of the laboratory

  • Participation in the preparation of a large-scale project on attention research

  • Support in administrative tasks within the empirical projects of the department
