Venue

Getting to the conference
The conference will take place in the Cube building  at Tilburg University, conveniently located within walking distance from the Tilburg University train station (and 3km from Tilburg's main train station.)

Visiting Tilburg University is convenient via public transport, though it’s advised to avoid taxis due to street closures from a city center fair.

  • By Train: The "Tilburg Universiteit" train station is directly adjacent to the campus, making it a convenient option.
  • By Bus: There are two bus stops near campus:
    • "Station Universiteit" accessible via Bus 3 to Reeshof Koolhoven from the central station.
    • "Universiteit van Tilburg" served by Bus 2 to Reeshof NW, Bus 4 to Reeshof ZW, and Bus 131 to Rijen from the central station.
  • Walking or Biking: For those preferring to walk or bike, it’s about 3km from Tilburg central station. Exit the station at the South exit, turn right onto Spoorlaan, and continue straight along Spoorlaan, through Hart van Brabantlaan and Professor Cobbenhagenlaan until you reach Hogeschoollaan. For detailed directions, please refer to this map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fLv56hATyCNbSkd39

Lodging
If you plan to attend, it may be good to start thinking about lodging now.  Tilburg city center is busy on the conference dates due to the big Tilburg Kermis fair (https://www.kermistilburg.nl/), so booking accommodation in advance is strongly recommended.

Here are some possible places:

Of course, there are also other hotels as well as many Airbnb options available.

Note traveling from Rotterdam to Tilburg (by train) may be an option for those who plan to stay in Rotterdam for CogSci (https://cognitivesciencesociety.org/cogsci-2024/ ) anyway. Here are travel directions: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fqReggibqWRNWkhm9

Traveling in the Netherlands
- We recommend buying an "Anonymous OV-chipkaart" to travel (see how it works here). These cards can be bought at the airport, large train stations and other places.

Up-to-date information about trains, such as delays or cancellations, can be found in https://www.ns.nl/en

Renting a bike in Tilburg
There are a few options for renting a bike in Tilburg. This guide will explain these options step by step.

  • Unibike: Unibike has bikes to rent, which can be reserved and picked up at Professor de Moorplein 283 (on campus). Send an email to verhuur@unibike.nl to reserve a bike, including the days for which you want to rent and proof of identity. Costs: €10 a day. Excluding a deposit of €50 cash (you will get this back when you return the bike). The rent fee can be paid by debit card or credit card, not cash.
  • Van Rijskwijk Tweewielers: This bike shop is located close to the central station (Noordhoekring 23) and has a small number of  bikes. Reserve one by emailing info@fietsverhuurtilburg.nl Costs: €10,50 a day
  • GO Sharing: You can download the GO Sharing app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once you have downloaded the app and created an account, you can find all available GO Sharing vehicles (e-bikes and e-mopeds) in the app. Find a vehicle and unlock it with the app if you are standing next to it. You can see all available vehicles on the map in the app. Reserve your vehicle, you then have 10 minutes to get to the vehicle. First check for any damages and report this in the app by pressing the exclamation mark (!). Start your ride by scanning the QR code or click on ‘start’ in the app. You only can end your ride in the service area. In the app this area is marked light blue or light green. Park the vehicle properly at a designated location and press ‘End ride’. Costs: Get an e-bike for €0.26 per minute, and e-moped for €0.29 per minute. No registration costs and you only pay per minute for the time you use the vehicle. Do you want to keep the vehicle reserved or do you temporarily park outside the service area? That is possible, from €0.15 per minute. Payment can be done in the app with credit card, iDeal or Paypal.

For your convenience, you can print your poster at Copy & Co, located at Westermarkt 36, 5042 MD, Tilburg. Please email your poster as a PDF or high-resolution PNG to tilburg@Copy-co.nl, and mention "MathPsych / ICCM 2024" to get a discount (€19.80 for a full-color A0 poster printed on 120g paper).

MathPsych Talk
In-person MathPsych Talks are spoken presentations accompanied by a slide deck. Each speaker is assigned a 20-minute presentation slot, which is typically divided into 15 minutes for presenting and 5 minutes of question time. The last speaker of each session is designated as session chair.

ICCM Full Paper + Talk
Full ICCM papers are up to six pages in length, not including references (could be extended to a 7th page for references only), and were evaluated by peer review. Papers accepted as talks will be in-person spoken presentations accompanied by a slide deck. Each speaker is assigned a 20-minute presentation slot, which is typically divided into 15 minutes for presenting and 5 minutes of question time. The last speaker of each session is designated as session chair.

Talk in a Symposium
